Colours and relaxed silhouettes make Autumn/Winter 2015-16 a great fashionable season to look forward to. Watch out for boxy ponchos in autumn hues of maroon. Sleek shifts in abstract prints, wrap around knee-length belted coats in fuchsia teamed with matching caps, pea coats as well as hip length tube tops. Go slightly masculine with houndstooth thigh length high collar coats. The pencil skirt and sharply cut business jacket for women continue to make a perennial fashion statement.
For a more adventurous Autumn/Winter approach, there is the layered asymmetric skirt and blouse in leaf green wool or a long white sombre wide collar coat. Trousers move from figure hugging form fitting silhouettes to wide loose ones, teamed with belted hip length white jackets. Make note of the shawl or stole that makes a style statement when draped over one shoulder.
For women, shoes are stylish but practical. The high heel moccasin pattern in black is the popular choice as it moves effortlessly from day to evening wear. Platforms with wide uppers in neutral shades and peep toe or cord styles once again in white or flesh tones are the favoured choice for daily wear.
For casual comfort, nothing can beat the white sneakers, which return to reclaim their position on the footwear charts for Autumn/Winter 2015-16. For those nippy days, nothing can beat the brown suede laced up ankle high boots, which look very avant-garde when teamed with elegant layered coordinates. The black oxfords are still on the trend charts for their versatile use. The strappy white stilettoes move in for formal evening wear.
Colours remain strong winter hues with black, brown, grey and navy dominating with splashes of colours and prints to add excitement to the masculine fashion scene. Body fitted silhouettes are still on the favoured list. Pleat-less trousers at times rolled up or ankle length presents a youthful look. Add coloured printed shirts with suspenders and the trend has a marked retro feel.
Checks and solids appear for trousers, shirts and boxy collarless jackets. As a fun element add a bow tie; while the necktie slims down to a narrow one. Short jackets with front patched pockets are the perfect outdoor option when designed in heavy duty wool.
Jackets for suits appear with medium width notched lapels but it’s the return of the lapelled waistcoat that adds classic style to men’s wear. For the sporty outdoor image, the biker’s jacket is still very much part of the Autumn/Winter 2015-16 fashion trend in leather with faux fur collar and zipper detailing.
Staying on the dark Autumn/Winter colours, footwear moves to heavy duty ankle high boots, or laced up formal baroque in black or beige and stylish but practical suede outdoor shoes.
